Pregnant?
"My advocate was very sincere, kind and gentle. Keep up the good work." Refuge Pregnancy Client
The possibility of being pregnant can bring many emotions. Fear, joy, confusion, and concern are just a few. Since 1984, The Refuge Center has been dedicated to helping women and men find their way through the emotions that come with the realization of pregnancy.
The first is to verify that you are pregnant with a medical grade test. Your medical needs are very important. This is why we offer a free limited obstetric ultrasound to verify the pregnancy is viable. We also realize that you may need more than just your physical concerns met, you may need emotional support as well. So the next step is to take a deep breath and sit down to discuss your feelings surrounding this pregnancy and the practical ways that we can help.
You have questions. We have answers about subjects such as Surgical or Chemical Abortion (The Pill), Adoption, Parenting, Ultrasounds, and Abortion Pill Reversal or Post Abortion Healing.
Refuge offers you:
-
Accurate and relevant information on all of your options
-
A compassionate, non-judgmental advocate to confidentially speak with right away
-
We offer a safe place with no pressure to consider your options and make an informed decision
-
Our staff includes trained advocates and medical professionals to answer questions you may have

Ultrasound
Why do I have to have one soon?
"The technician was amazing! She made sure I was comfortable and explained the whole process to me."
-Ultrasound Client
An Ultrasound in the early stages of pregnancy is important for a couple reasons…
1) Assessing how far along you are just from the Last Menstrual Period (or LMP) is not always the most accurate indicator. We will be able to give you a more accurate gestational age of the baby from the limited obstetric ultrasound you will receive here at Refuge.

2) 28 percent of all pregnancies are not viable and will result in miscarriage. A limited obstetric ultrasound is a good first step in ruling that out.
Once your urine test indicates positive, we will gladly schedule an appointment for a free limited obstetric ultrasound. At that appointment, one of our caring and thorough sonographers will perform your sonogram on a state of the art ultrasound machine here in our office.
Our goal is to give you as much knowledge as possible, so you will be empowered to take the steps forward that are right for you and your child.
